Since medieval times, pilgrims have crossed Europe on the Way of St. James, travelling through the regions where the grapes of our exclusive wine originate. 

Today, from across the world, pilgrims and travellers alike find a home at St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel, through wrought iron gates that have borne the scallop shells symbolising the pilgrimage over the centuries. 

Raising a toast to travellers across the centuries, Compagnon de St. James is a delicate blend of European grapes with aromas of vanilla, violets and subtle notes of black olive, pepper and dark plum. Aged for up to 13 months in French oak barrels, the result is a complex and balanced red wine, carefully crafted by Piero Masi, chief winemaker at Fratelli, with grapes handpicked by Piero and his team from Fratelli’s 240-acre estate-owned vineyards in Akluj.
