To celebrate the ‘English Classics, Reinvented’ campaign, The Hamptons Bar has introduced Cocktail Classics, Reinvented. Each month our talented mixologists reinvent a different cocktail, adding a Shakespearean twist that feels perfectly at home in the quintessentially English bar or the stunning Shakespearean courtyard. Enjoy classic cocktails with a twist, expertly crafted and inspired by the beauty of the Bard’s words.
"She loved me for the dangers I had passed, and I loved her that she did pity them."
Othello, Act I, Scene III
Full of love and war, what better way to reinvent the Hemingway Special for March than to turn it into Othello, a strong and serious drink of Bacardi, Maraschino liqueur and grapefruit juice.
"Look like the innocent flower, but be the serpent under it."
Macbeth, Act I, Scene V
This April, the Bramble takes a dark turn. Inspired by MacBeth and blending Bombay gin, Crème de Mure, lemon juice and sugar syrup poured over crushed ice.
Since medieval times, pilgrims have crossed Europe on the Way of St. James, travelling through the regions where the grapes of our exclusive wine originate. Today, from across the world, pilgrims and travellers alike find a home at St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel, through wrought iron gates that have borne the scallop shells symbolising the pilgrimage over the centuries. Raising a toast to travellers across the centuries, Compagnon de St. James is a delicate blend of European grapes with aromas of vanilla, violets and subtle notes of black olive, pepper and dark plum. Aged for up to 13 months in French oak barrels, the result is a complex and balanced red wine, carefully crafted by Piero Masi, chief winemaker at Fratelli, with grapes handpicked by Piero and his team from Fratelli’s 240-acre estate-owned vineyards in Akluj.
